1. Yoga mat cleaning cycle
Dermatologists recommend that yoga mats should be washed every other week.
2. The hazards of overdue cleaning of yoga mats
People who do yoga occasionally or just yoga beginners who usually use public yoga mats are prone to get infected, which may cause folliculitis, tinea corporis, beriberi, even allergic dermatitis and asthma. They are also susceptible to infect a variety of skin diseases.
When practicing yoga, especially in public places, yoga mats are public and rarely cleaned for a long time. How do we deal with this situation? It is recommended to use yoga mat towel, which can effectively prevent harmful substances from yoga mat and isolate bacteria.
Note: Yoga mat towels should be cleaned in time.
3.How to wash the yoga mat?
It needs usual cleaning, you just need to wipe it with a wet towel, dry it, or use two cups of water adding 4 drops of dish detergent to put in the sprayer. After spraying the yoga mat, dry it with a dry cloth.
If the mat is very dirty, it can be cleaned with neutral detergent directly with water. Washing powder water is not recommended. Because it's hard to wash off the detergent residue, which can make the yoga mat slippery. Gently scrub the mat with a cloth dipped in neutral detergent water, then rinse it with clean water. Finally, roll up the yoga mat with a dry towel, absorb the excess water and dry it in the air. In addition, do not let the PVC and TPE yoga mat exposed to sun directly, which will accelerate the aging of the material.
